Vanilla tea custard

Try this homemade custard on any of your favourite steamed puds or it's creamy enough to have on it's own. And, worth the 15 mins it takes to make!

Ingredients
- 400mlmilk
- 4 black teabags
- 100g sugar
- 6 egg yolks
- 4tsp cornflour
- 4tbsp sifted plain flour
- Few drops of vanilla essence
Method
- Place the milk in a small pan and bring to the boil.
- Remove from the heat and add the teabags for 5 mins. Squeeze and throw away the bags.
- Combine the milk, egg yolks, sugar, cornflour and sifted flour into a paste.
- Return all ingredients to the pan and warm on a low heat, stirring continuously until the paste thickens into a custard.
- Remove from heat and add a few drops of vanilla essence.
- Divide custard between two serving glasses and leave in the fridge to chill until serving.
