Wonderfully warming, Irish Whiskey has a mellow taste which is different from Scotch - a great St Patrick's Day treat

Ingredients

Ingredients for each glass:

  • A generous measure of Irish Whiskey (3-4cl)
  • 1tsp of brown sugar
  • Freshly brewed strong coffee
  • 2 - 3tbsp double cream

Method

  1. Warm a stemmed glass or coffee mug by pouring in hot water, then dry off.
  2. Put the Irish Whiskey into the glass, add the sugar and stir gently to dissolve.
  3. Pour in the coffee leaving a gap of about 1 - 2cm.
  4. Pour the double cream onto the top of the coffee over the back of a teaspoon.
  5. Drink the coffee through the cream
