This tasty tomato and roast red pepper sauce goes really with spaghetti and meatballs. Serve with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 small egg, lightly beaten
  • 50g Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • ½tsp dried chilli flakes
  • ½tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2tbsp olive oil
  • Tomato and roast red pepper sauce
  • 200-250g spaghetti
  • Fresh basil

Method

  1. Mix together the minced beef, beaten egg, Parmesan cheese, dried chilli flakes, cinnamon, garlic and oregano. Season with salt and pepper then form into about 20 meatballs.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan and fry the meatballs, turning often for 10-12 mins.
  3. Meanwhile, put the spaghetti on to cook according to pack instructions.
  4. Stir the tomato sauce into the meatballs. Cook gently for 2-3 mins, then serve with the spaghetti. Garnish with basil and more Parmesan cheese.
