A great wintry treat for grown-ups: baked bananas with lashings of cream and brandy

  • Serves: 2

  • Cooking time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 30ml (2tbsp) soft brown sugar
  • 30ml (2tbsp) brandy
  • Large pinch of cinnamon
  • Aerosol real dairy cream with brandy

Method

  1. Make a slit lengthways through the skin and along each banana.
  2. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
  3. Place each banana on a piece of foil, and scrunch around the banana.
  4. Slightly open the skins and sprinkle a spoonful of the sugar mixture along the slit.
  5. Pour a spoonful of brandy onto each banana and loosely cover the banana with foil.
  6. Cook in a preheated oven on 180ºC/350ºF/Gas Mark 4-5 for about 30 minutes until the banana is soft.
  7. Remove the bananas from the oven and place in a sundae dish. Pour over the juices, allow to cool slightly and then squirt a large helping of cream - and enjoy!
