1. Colour some white sugarpaste with Dark Brown paste colour, leaving it mottled, for the fl oorboards. Moisten the cake drum with cooled, boiled water. Roll the sugarpaste thinly and drape over the drum; trim excess paste and then smooth with an icing smoother. To achieve the fl oorboard look, indent the paste with a ruler, repeating until the fl oorboards cover the drum. Finally, make wood grains by running a toothpick over the paste. Make small holes for nails and wood divisions using a sharp knife.
