Quick game balti curry

Venison balti

A great dish to whip up as it's quick and easy. You can also swap the venison for vegetables, chicken or lamb.

Ingredients

Venison is lower in calories, cholesterol and fat than most cuts of beef, pork or lamb.

  • 1tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1tsp chopped ginger
  • ¼ tsp coriander seeds
  • ¼ tsp crushed red chilli flakes
  • 3 large venison steaks, cut into 2cm cubes
  • 2 large red peppers, cut into 2cm dices
  • 100g blanched broad beans
  • 6-8 tbsp balti sauce

Method

  1. Heat oil and sauté ginger for 30 secs and then add coriander and red chilli flakes.
  2. Sauté for 1 min and add peppers and broad beans. Stir to seal for 2 mins.
  3. Add the diced venison and cook for 3-4 mins until the meat is three-quarters cooked.
  4. Add the sauce and simmer for 2-3 mins or until the venison is cooked. Serve hot with bread or rice.
