Economy Gastronomy's Paul Merrett says: Always have a roll of clingfilm handy to wrap up leftovers. Cheese prefers tin foil, and wrapping fresh herbs or lettuce in a clean, damp cloth prolongs their quality.

In week four, cook a couple of lamb shoulder joints on Sunday and they'll triple up for a Monday night pie and a Tuesday curry.
