This strawberry mule cocktail is so easy to make. Made with fresh strawberries and Jamaican rum, it's perfect for early barbecues


  • 25-50ml rum
  • Dash of Angostura bitters
  • 25ml lime
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 4-5 ripe strawberries
  • Ginger beer, to top up
  • 1 strawberry, to garnish

Angostura bitters are available in the booze aisle of most big supermarkets - it will cost a few quid to buy but one bottle will last you a lifetime!


  1. Press strawberries in a shaker then shake all ingredients apart from the ginger beer with cubed ice.
  2. Fine strain into a highball or Collins glass over cubed ice and then top with ginger beer.
  3. Garnish with half a strawberry on top and two tall straws.
