Make your New Year’s Eve party go with a swing with this simple but very classy Champagne strawberry cocktail. Perfect for serving to your guests as they arrive or toasting in the New Year as the clock strikes midnight. All you need is Champagne or sparkling wine such as cava, strawberry liqueur such as Crème de fraises, orange brandy such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau and some ice. Poured into long thin glasses or Champagne flutes with matching red straws it looks and tastes very sophisticated. Choose a dry (brut) Champagne or sparkling wine for this cocktail as the liqueurs are quite sweet. Cheers!

  • 100ml strawberry liqueur
  • 50ml orange brandy
  • 1 bottle chilled Champagne or sparkling wine
  • Ice

You can make a non-alcoholic version by using strawberry cordial, orange cordial and sparkling water.

  1. Divide the strawberry liqueur and orange brandy between 6 tall glasses or Champagne flutes.
  2. Add a small ice cube to each and top up with Champagne or sparkling wine. Add a straw to each and stir to mix.
