We know what it's like when you're browsing a site with as many recipes as ours. You find a brilliant recipe, want to make it again, but can't remember how you found it!

Red velvet cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, we've got them all covered but how about red velvet pancakes? We took the basic elements of the red velvet cake mixture and applied them to the pancake batter - the result? Delicious! The rich red pancakes would make the perfect romantic treat for Pancake Day or even Valentine's Day. Serve with a little whipped cream and strawberries to turn your pancakes into a elegant dessert.

  1. Measure out the basic pancake ingredients but replace 20g of the flour with cocoa powder. Mix with the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Add a few drops of red food colouring at time until you get the desired colour. You may need to add a little more flour if the mixture is looking a bit runny.
  3. Make up the pancakes according to the recipe.
