6 things we've learnt at the Cake & Bake Show 2014
goodtoknow were at the Cake & Bake Show this year! We had a brilliant three days and learnt a lot along the way, including never to run out of goody bags and just how much everyone loves a cake expert! We're going to take it all on board for 2015.
Watch our video for some behind the scenes footage of the show along with a rather tasty looking cake too!
1. Go hungry
They'll be a lot of delicious treats to tempt you whilst you wander around the show including meringues, freshly baked loaves of bread, homemade macaroons and more! We just couldn't resist them temptation and came home with a bag or two full of treats!
2. You can literally make anything out of cake
We were blown away but the talent at the Cake & Bake Show this year. From Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood cake decorations to gruesome ghouls and ghosts for Halloween - we just couldn't believe that everything was made from cake!
Psst! Want to see more amazing cakes? More creations that we just can't believe are made from cake!
3. Always ensure you have enough bags...
Ok, we're sorry folks! We're holding out hands up and admitted that we ran out of goody bags - eek! Next year we promise we'll have even more treats in store for you so everyone can get in on the goodtoknow action.
4. Greet everyone with a smile (and a freebie!)
Everyone loves a freebie and everyone loves a smiley face. The goodtoknow team put their biggest smiles on at the Cake & Bake Show despite achy backs and sore feet. It was a long weekend but you lovely people made it worth the while!
5. Having a cupcake expert on hand always helps
We have to say a massive thank you to our cupcake queen Victoria Threader and her amazing skills. She took on the C&B all weekend running classes to teach vistors how to make their own cake decorations. She taught them how make button cake decorations, how to make rose cake decorations and pretty bow cake decorations too!
6. Be prepared to be VERY busy on the day
Get ready for some serious elbows out folks! The C&B was packed this year - rumour had it that over 15,000 tickets had been sold on the Saturday... Amazing! Get there early so you can beat the rush or head there after lunch time, the choice is yours!
Where to next?
