This cheerful breakfast is quick, fun to make and only requires a few ingredients. Children will need very little assistance when they build up the pretty layers; they can keep things interesting by changing the fruit or the cereal. This filling breakfast will keep little tummies full, right up to snack time and beyond!
Ingredients
- 50g Cheerios
- 225g plain natural yogurt or Greek yogurt
- 2 tsp honey (optional)
- 75g blueberries
- 50g strawberries
WEIGHT CONVERTER
Method
- Find two large glass tumblers. If your child is very young, you may prefer to use a plastic cup!
- Weigh the Cheerios, yogurt and fruit into separate bowls. If you wish to sweeten the yogurt, stir in the honey.
- Ask your child to fill the glasses with the ingredients, in alternate layers. Start with a layer of Cheerios, then a layer of yogurt, followed by some fruit. Repeat this sequence twice, finishing with an extra sprinkle of Cheerios as a finishing touch.
- Serve straight away!
Top Tip for making Fruit and Cheerios breakfast layers
Swap Cheerios for your child's favourite cereal instead - try Rice Krispies or Cornflakes!
