What's my recipe book?

We know what it's like when you're browsing a site with as many recipes as ours. You find a brilliant recipe, want to make it again, but can't remember how you found it!

But we've solved the problem. Now, by clicking 'Save this recipe' or 'I cooked this' on any of our recipes, they'll be saved and grouped into your personal online recipe book. All you have to do is log in with your Facebook account to see them. When you click either of these buttons it will also tell your friends on Facebook what you've been cooking or saving so they too can give our quick and easy recipes a go (but you can turn this off at any time by visiting your 'My recipe book' page). Just click one of the buttons below or 'see my book' to get started. We hope you like it!

Watch how simple it is to check if your roast chicken is cooked through properly. This is the easiest way to check if the chicken is cooked through and safe to eat.

If youíre always unsure about whether a whole chicken is ready, this nifty little trick will make your life easier - and stop you overcooking chicken unnecessarily.

Thereís nothing worse than waiting around for your roast chicken to cook, especially when the potatoes, Yorkshires and veggies are all ready to be eaten. If youíre worried about overcooking your chicken or not cooking it long enough this simple technique will put your mind at rest.

Make sure when handling equipment or food that has been in the oven that you are careful and wear oven gloves or mitts. A roast chicken is not only going to be piping hot, itíll be pretty heavy too so handle with care.

Follow our step-by-step method for making sure your roast chicken is cooked every time.

  • a sharp knife
  • oven gloves

Step 1

Carefully take the roast chicken out of the oven when you think itís cooked.

Step 2

Using a sharp knife, pull the leg away from the body. Pierce the skin and meat to release juices.

Step 3

If the juices run clear, the chicken is cooked. If the juice has a slight pink tinge to it, pop the chicken back in the oven and cook for a further 10 mins. Take out and check again.
