Yes, the BBC plan on shaking things up this Christmas by creating two new specials to replace Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood’s Christmas masterclasses. Our two favourite presenters (sorry Ant and Dec!) Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc will host the Christmas specials and if that’s not all, each programme will feature four ‘favourite’ contestants from the past. How exciting!
The Great British Bake Off is by far one of the most popular reality TV shows to date with last year’s series drawing in a whopping 15 million viewers - its no wonder they’re raising the stakes for Christmas this year.
Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC content, said: 'What a treat to bring two Great British Bake Off specials to BBC One this Christmas. Mary, Paul, Mel and Sue are the perfect recipe for the festive season.'
The contestants will compete against each other (just like old times!) making festive cakes, breads and biscuits in order to impress Mary and Paul all over again.
The Christmas specials will be aired on BBC, just like the up and coming summer series (which we are counting down to, aren’t you?)
We truly cannot wait to see some of our favourite past contestants back on our screens this year – Christmas couldn’t come sooner.
The Great British Bake Off 2016 is set to be back on our screens with a brand new line up of eager contestants ready to impress Mary and Paul with their baking skills early August 2016.
