Every summer party needs a jug of sangria, and this classic recipe is one of the best we’ve ever tried. You can play around with the ratios to suit your tastes, but make sure to include plenty of oranges and the best quality wine you can afford.
- 2 oranges, sliced
- 1 bottle Spanish red wine
- 100ml Spanish brandy
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1⁄2-1ltr bottle lemonade, well chilled
- Ice cubes, to serve
Place 1 orange in a jug and crush with the end of a rolling pin. Pour over the red wine and brandy. Cover the jug and chill in the fridge for about 1 hour for the flavour to come out of the orange.
To serve, add the remaining halved or quartered slices of orange and lemon and top up with lemonade. Serve with plenty of ice.
This is a great recipe to make ahead of a party, as it actually tastes better the longer you leave it to infuse!
