The kids are going to love making these easy melted snowman biscuits. This simple recipe makes melted snowmen using Rich Tea biscuits, handful of white marshmallows and a little icing. Ready in just 10 mins, these biscuits would make the perfect treat for kids’ Christmas parties or bake sales. This recipe makes 6 biscuits but you can easily double or even triple the recipe and make a lot more. To create the face, we use an edible black pen, which you can by online or from specialist baking shops, but you could use black writing icing instead, which you can find in most supermarkets. These biscuits are best made on the day you eat them, but trust us – they won’t last longer!
- 6tbsp icing sugar
- 6 Rich Tea biscuits (or
- Edible black pen, or black writing icing
- 6 medium-sized white marshmallows
- Writing icing, for the faces and buttons (we used orange and yellow)
Make the icing by mixing the icing sugar with 2tbsp water in a bowl – if the mixture looks too thick, add more water. If it is too thin, add more icing sugar.
Lay 6 Rich Tea biscuits on baking paper. Spoon the icing onto each biscuit, letting it ooze over the edges of the biscuit.
Using an edible black pen, draw faces onto the marshmallows. Use orange writing icing to create the carrot nose.
Place the marshmallows on top of each biscuit.
Draw stick arms onto the icing with the edible pen. Use yellow writing icing to create the buttons.
Leave to set or serve straight away for a melting effect.
Add a few drops of vanilla extract or almond essence to give the icing a different flavour.
