10. Marzipan

Super sweet cake topper marzipan came in 10th place with 26% of people saying they can't stand it.

Top tip: If you hate marzipan, you can cover your cakes with a simple buttercream instead.

Loved by dads, liquorice is clearly not a nationwide favourite as 28% of people voted it their worst food.

Top tip: Red liquorice has a less strong flavour and will help you get used to the sharpness of black liquorice.

The salty texture of olives saw them get a whopping 33% of the vote.

Top tip: Olives really do grow on you after a while so if you try one every now and again - you'll be an olive lover in no time!

34% of the people asked said they could not stand the strong flavours of blue cheese.

Top tip: Blue cheese really is an acquired taste, lighter cheeses like brie and goat's cheese will get you used to stronger flavours.

It may be the idea more than the actual flavour but raw fish dish sushi got a whopping 37% of the vote.

Top tip: Try veggie sushi such as avocado or cucumber before trying the fish versions.

Again, the idea of this one may be worse than the actual taste. Black pudding may be made with blood but the taste is actually something quite similar to sausages.

Top tip: Try a little bit of someone else's black pudding before writing off the idea entirely - you may be surprised.

4. Tofu

It's a food you don't often come across unless you're vegetarian but tofu is divisive enough to make it to the 4th spot with 42% of the vote.

Top tip: Tofu is relatively flavourless so you can add taste to it by teaming it with chilli or other strong-flavoured ingredients.

These little fish are packed with a deep salty flavour, so it's not surprise not everyone is a fan of anchovies - 45% of people said they can't stand these little fishy fellas.

Top tip: The strong flavours of anchovies give salads and pasta a nice salty flavour - try chopping them up really small so you don't know you're eating them.

Liver may be packed full of nutrients - but it's clearly not the top of people's shopping list. 46% of people said they can't stand the old fashioned food.

Top tip: Liver is traditionally served in a rich sauce - which may hide some of the strong flavours if you fancy giving it a go.
