Aphrodisiacs 1 & 2: Chocolate and asparagus

Aphrodisiacs one and two: Chocolate and asparagus

What is it?

Chocolate - the darker the better

Why is it an aphrodisiac?

Chocolate contains a chemical which is the same as one that's released in your brain when you're in love - so when you eat it you suddenly feel all romantic! It also releases seratonin which makes us happy, making us more appealing to the opposite sex.

The best way to get the effects

Cook your partner dinner with an extra-chocolatey dessert for afters - our chocolate recipes should help inspire you.

If that sounds like too much effort, some chocolate body paint or kissing with a square of chocolate in your mouth should get you both well and truly in the mood.

What is it?

Asparagus

Why is it an aphrodisiac

You only have to look at the shape of an asparagus spear to understand why it's an aphrodisiac! But if that's not enough to get you in the mood, it also contains vitamin A and potassium which can both boost your sex drive.

The best way to get the effects

Make a delicious meal using asparagus as a starter or to accompany your main course - our asparagus recipes should give you some ideas.

Asparagus is traditionally eaten with your hands, so why not go back to basics for a sensual meal experience.
