Coronation Street star Samia was paired with the French professional ice-skater three years ago while taking part in the ITV series Dancing on Ice. Their on screen chemistry sizzled and the love-struck pair have been together ever since.
The couple looked happy and relaxed as they posed with celeb friends Jane Danson and Tina O'Brien for the cover of OK! on their wedding day. Samia wore a stunning fishtail gown for the occasion, accessorised simply with a sparkly hairband and drop earrings, whilst Sylvain looked smart in a grey suit and pale yellow tie.
Samia said of their big day, 'I was so happy I had to stop myself from running down the aisle!'
Freya, Samia's daughter from a previous relationship, walked her down the aisle in the absence of her father, who sadly passed away in 2009.
'Freya walked me down the aisle. I didn't want her to give me away as she’s never going to have to give me away in her life, so she walked me down the aisle as Sylvain is getting Freya as well.'
The couple are also parents to 11-month-old Yves, who arrived in September 2015. They announced their engagement in May 2015 during Samia's pregnancy.
'At the end we had a sand ceremony,' Samia added. 'We each had a vial of sand – mine was lemon coloured and Sylvain’s was blue. We took it in turns to pour the sand into another vial. That signified that our love is inseparable, as you cannot separate grains of sand.'
Many of their celebrity friends were keen to congratulate the couple. Samia's co-star Catherine Tyldesley, who plays Eva Price in Coronation Street, tweeted her best wishes to the newly weds on the following Sunday morning.
Another one of Samia's co-stars from Coronation Street, Antony Cotton, shared his delight on social media for the happy couple, tweeting a picture of his wedding card for them.
Their beautiful ceremony was held at Delamere Manor in Cheshire, which is Gary Barlow's old home. The lavish country house boasts six bedrooms, its own nightclub and an impressive six acre lake.
Samia previously hinted at the wedding being an intimate affair in her OK! blog.
'With all the planning that's gone into it, I want to be able to try and enjoy the day as much as we can,' she wrote prior to the ceremony. 'A lot of people who get married say that they hardly spoke to their husband on the day so I'd really like to try and get a few minutes with Sylvain where it's just us to be able to digest it all.'
'We've also tried to keep our guest numbers down as much as possible to our really close friends and family as we want to be able to spend time with everyone and not to get to the end of the day and feel like we've not had chance to chat to all our guests.'
