Darius Campbell confirms divorce from wife Natasha Henstridge

The singer said the pair will remain 'dear friends'.

Darius Campbell has confirmed that he and wife Natasha Henstridge are getting a divorce, after opening up on Loose Women.

The Pop Idol star appeared on the popular daytime TV programme speaking about his relationship with former partner Natasha to panellists Stacey Solomon, Coleen Nolan and Ruth Langsford.

The singer confirmed to the Loose Women that he is getting a divorce, over three years after originally splitting from his wife.

But despite their relationship ending, Darius made it clear that he is still on good terms with Natasha, claiming the pair are still 'dear friends'.

The 36-year-old said, 'In the most bittersweet and wonderful way, we're dear friends.' He continued to describe what wedding vows mean to him, explaining that if you don't mean them anymore you have 'get out'.

'We filed for divorce three years ago. I really meant what I said, when you stand in front of someone and you say I'm going to give you my life, you mean it. And if you don't, you shouldn't be in it, so get out.'

Referencing the last three years in which the couple had tried to mend their relationship, he said, 'we tried to make it work and we've separated and we're divorcing. But in the best way and we're still friends.'

One of the positives the performer took from his relationship with the Canadian actress and model is being a stepfather to her two sons, Tristan and Asher.

'I got to be in the most amazing relationship, I got to be a stepfather. It was a gift.'

Darius, who was previously known by his stage name Darius Danesh, hit headlines last year when he was seen kissing his estranged partner Natasha and confirmed then that the pair were 'very happy together'.

It is said that the pair met on a pedestrian crossing in 2004 and had an instant connection, tying the knot seven years later in secret on Valentine's Day.

The couple had previously split up in January 2010 after work commitments forced them apart.
