EastEnders star Lacey Turner marries boyfriend Matt Kay in stunning island ceremony

The couple married in a beautiful island ceremony on Ibiza

EastEnders actress Lacey Turner has married her childhood sweetheart Matt Kay in a beautiful secluded ceremony on the island of Ibiza.

The wedding, which was covered exclusively by OK! Magazine, took place on an idyllic beach, and was attended by co-stars including James Bye, Jake Wood, Aaron Sidwell, Laurie Brett, Scott Masien and Dame Barbara Windsor.

Lacey, who wore a stunning ivory coloured embellished gown and bare feet for the big day, explained to the title that she had been nervous the evening before the wedding, but they had decided to stay together on the night, which is traditionally spent apart.

'I had a few tiny moments when I panicked, but on the day I couldn't wait to get down the aisle and marry Matt. I was like, hurry up, I want to get married!' she exclaimed.

'We ended up staying together the night before our wedding. Matt was going to stay with his mum down the road but we thought that, as we hadn't done much that was traditional, we might as well just stay together! It felt special to wake up on the morning of our wedding day together. I probably wouldn't have slept as well anyway if I didn't have Matt there.'

The couple started dating when 29-year old Lacey was just 15, meaning they've been together for nearly half of her life. They've reportedly broken up and reunited a few times over the course of their relationship, but the engagement announcement in September of last year showed the couple were ready to commit.

'It's so special that we met at such a young age. It doesn't happen for a lot of people and I feel elated and very lucky to have Lace in my life and we're lucky to have met when we did. I think it was meant to be,' Matt added to OK!.

Lacey, meanwhile, has always hoped for a future with Matt, telling the News of the World in 2008 that she couldn't wait to settle down with the London-based hairdresser.

'He's practically perfect. I'm really happy. We are very similar - we both like staying in and watching TV and films. We are really happy but we are taking it slow. We are still so young - we haven't really thought much about the future.'

'I know that I want to be a mum, but not for many years yet. I'm just getting started with my career so that is way off.'
