goodtoknow says: Pneumonia is a lung infection. Most serious cases are caused by bacteria. Symptoms include a high fever, tight chest, cough, shivers, sweats and headache. But if you were previously in good health recovery is normally speedy with antibiotics. You're more likely to get it severely if you've been ill already, have a poor immune system or are elderly and frail. If your symptoms worsen, eg you become breathless with a high fever, you may have to go to hospital.
