Coping with epilepsy

Average rating:
3 out of 5 star rating (167 ratings)
My doctor warned me that if my daughter, who has epilepsy, had a seizure while asleep, she could become trapped in her pillow, which could block her nose and mouth and cause suffocation. I bought a Sleep-Safe Anti-Suffocation pillow (£30.67, www.sleep-safe.co.uk) recommended by her specialist.
Jenny Rogers, 34, Cambridge, Gloucestershire

You often hear of people putting things in people's mouths when they have fits, to stop them from biting their tongues, but you shouldn't do that because they could choke. Just put something soft under their heads so they're less likely to injure themselves.
