Dr Stephen Grund, haematology expert, on pancreatic cancer

Average rating:
3 out of 5 star rating (159 ratings)
'At the time of diagnosis, only about 20 per cent of pancreatic tumours can be removed by surgery. When the tumour is confined to the pancreas but cannot be removed, a combination of radiation therapy and chemotherapy may be recommended. When the tumour has spread to other organs such as the liver, chemotherapy alone is usually used.'
Dr Stephen Grund, Chief of Haematology, Hospital of Central Connecticut, USA
