From that glossy hair to her charitable ways and winning smile, find out why we love Kate Middleton
Ever since the Royal Wedding we have been obsessed with all things Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge has really captured the hearts of the nation and these are just a few reasons why we love her.

She takes George on normal days out – even if it’s raining!
Okay, so he might be a little more well travelled than the average tot, but Kate still knows that the real way to every little one’s heart is a good old-fashioned day out at the park – even if it’s a bit drizzly.
The 33-year-old has been spotted taking George to London’s Holland Park on a wet Sunday morning, and according to onlookers, the pair weren’t going to let the great British weather get in the way of their fun, which apparently involved playing a game of ‘monsters’.
‘They were running around on the rides, the swings, roundabouts and slides,’ an onlooker told Hello! magazine. ‘They were on their own. Just the two of them.’
George was ‘really smiling and laughing’ as Kate ‘chased him, waving her arms around pretending to be a monster,’ the source continued. ‘It reminded me of the film Monsters Inc.’
We love that Kate isn’t afraid to get a bit silly with her son – turns out her parenting skills are just like ours!

She’s got greys – just like us!
During a visit to Staffordshire in February 2015, Kate wore her hair in a style that exposed a hint of grey root – and while most of the press went wild, we simply shrugged our shoulders and said, ‘So what?’
The Duchess, who is currently 32 weeks pregnant, may have stopped having root touch-ups while she’s expecting. Many pregnant women choose not to dye their hair as some reports say that the chemicals are unsafe for expectant mothers – although there’s not much evidence to back this up. In Kate’s case, some sources are claiming that the grey area may simply be a squirt of dry shampoo that needs rubbing in!
Kate is 33 now, and we reckon a few grey hairs are perfectly normal – nothing but a natural sign that she’s human, just the like rest of us. Either way, we still think she’s looking fab – and the fact that she’s not afraid to display a hint of grey has just makes us love her even more!

For her dedication to her charities
At a recent EACH (East Anglia Children’s Hospices) appeal, for which Kate is patron, she heard Leigh Smith (pictured right), speak about the death of her three-month-old daughter, Beatrice, and how the hospice had helped her cope with such a difficult time.
On meeting the bereaved mum, the Duchess threw her arms around her, and comforted her telling her she was a ‘brave lady.’
But this wasn’t the first time Leigh had spoken to Kate – in the days after her baby’s death, she wrote to Kate to tell her her story, and received a personal reply.
The 33-year-old physiotherapist from Norwich said: ‘I was touched that she had taken so much time to carefully read my letter and then to reply herself – it shows how much she cares. When I met her today she remembered the letter and said it was an honour to meet me. I was completely taken aback – for me it was an honour to meet her.
‘Kate sought me out and gave me a hug just before she left. I was getting quite teary-eyed, she had tears in her eyes and she just said to me “You’re a very brave lady and again, I’m just so so sorry”‘.
What a touching story.

She’s just as comfortable in casual wear
It took a long time but Kate was finally pictured in more relaxed wear when she visited a Beaver Scout Colony in December 2014. Kate looked right at home in her hoodie and we can imagine her wearing it to get cosy watching TV with Wills and George.

She’s down with the kids
Kids love Kate. Not only is the Duchess a patron of a number of children’s charities, including East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and the Art Room, she’s also a volunteer with the Scout Association.
In June 2012, Kate joined a group of children on a camping trip, taking part in outdoor activities, like building a shelter, outdoor cooking and campfire building. We love a camping Duchess!

Kate likes babies too
We’re so pleased that Kate and Wills have had lovely little Prince George, as Kate has always looked so comfortable with babies. The royal looked like she was enjoying baby Savannah Phillips’ company at a polo event in June 2012.

She can cook
Kate proved she’s a whizz in the kitchen when she visited the Centrepoint charity in December 2011 and made mince pies and gingerbread.
Apparently Kate loves nothing better than cooking for her man too and was recently seen with chicken in her shopping bag. We wonder what she made!

She’s a family girl
We like that even now she’s a royal and rubbing shoulders with the Queen, Kate still finds time to spend with her family and is often seen with her sister Pippa at events, like Wimbledon in July 2012.

She loves sport
From hockey to rowing, table tennis and skiing, Kate loves keeping fit with different sports and is quite good at it too.
She used to belong to rowing team The Sisterhood and trained for a cross-channel race.

She’s a fan of high street shopping
As one of the most famous women in the world, Kate could have any designer dress her, but she loves high street favourites like Zara, Whistles and Reiss.
What’s more, she doesn’t just wear her high street items once – Kate loves recycling her look! We’re also in love with this red Zara blazer.

She gets on with William’s brother
When Kate isn’t accompanied by Wills at public events, you’ll usually find Harry by her side and the pair get on so well, they’re often joking and chatting together. We love that they’re like a real brother and sister – Harry even once commented that she’s like the sister he never had.

She’s a dog lover
In February 2012, Kate and William adopted a 3-month-old cocker spaniel and managed to keep his name a secret for a while until it was later revealed as Lupo.
Kate and Wills are often seen out and about with their cute dog and most recently Kate took Lupo to a polo event. Lucky pup!

She’s not afraid of getting dirty
In July 2011, Kate and William visited Canada on a royal tour and Kate showed the world that she’s not afraid of getting dirty when she helped plant a tree in Ottawa.
Not only did she man the shovel as Wills watched on but she did it in a classy frock too!

Her fabulous style
Whether she’s rocking a designer gown, like this Roland Mouret, or a bargain buy, like one of her Zara numbers, Kate is one of the most stylish celebs around.
She always manages to look fashionable without flashing too much skin and shows how trendy she really is by opting for many high street looks.

She likes a Mexican wave
Kate loves nothing more than getting into the spirit and joining in a Mexican wave.
Whether she’s watching the tennis at Wimbledon or the Olympics, you’ll find her with her hands up in the air like the rest of us.

The celebs love her
Victoria Beckham apparently wants to design dresses for her and back in July 2011 when Kate made a visit to Hollywood she met some starstruck celebs, like Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Nicole Kidman at an A-list event. Fancy that – starstruck stars!

The politicians like her too
We often see Kate sharing a joke with David Cameron and at the Olympics opening ceremony, David Cameron turned to her and said: ‘My favourite part of the opening ceremony was when your husband leant over and said to me ‘I don’t know if you know, Prime Minister, but my grandmother is a great fan of Dizzee Rascal.’ Kate apparently laughed at his joke!

She lets us call her Kate
Her real name is Catherine and it’s what William, her family and friends call her, but Kate decided years ago to shorten her name for the media.
We think it makes her seem really down to earth, even though we like Catherine too!

She gets on with William’s gran

Those glossy locks
Shiny, thick and wavy – we’re in love with Kate’s hair and always have been. We’re a fan of the length and shade and we don’t think we’ve ever seen her have a bad hair day.
Her hair also looks fab when she has it in a stylish updo at some of the more formal events.

She has a competitive streak
Kate loves a bit of competition – especially when it’s against hubby Wills. When the couple were on their royal tour of Canada in July 2011, they played hockey in Yellowknife and Kate looked like she was teasing the other team.
On the same trip, Kate and William competed against each other in a friendly boat race with local athletes.

She’s the most glamorous royal
Whether she’s with William, Harry or Charles, Kate always stands out from the royal crowd and when the Duchess is around, all eyes are on her.
At the Buckingham Palace garden party in May 2012, Kate had crowds of guests surrounding her and she looked as lovely as always.

She always has time for her fans
In the same style as the late Princess Diana, Kate loves stopping to talk to her fans when she’s out and about. She’s collected quite a few presents from the crowds in the past too, ranging from teddy bears to flowers.
What we love most is that people of all ages love her, from little girls dreaming of marrying a prince like her, to the older generation who are happy she’s joined the royal family.

She lets her hair down too
Ok, so this picture of Kate at a roller disco was taken well before she was a royal in 2008, but it still shows she’s up for a laugh. The Duchess organised the party with Richard Branson’s daughter Holly to raise money for charity.
Before she was married, Kate was also snapped coming out of a few nightclubs too, so she definitely likes a good party!

She likes a girly chat
Just like us, Kate likes catching up with her girl friends and having a good natter.
The royal looked like she was having an interesting conversation and sharing jokes with Princess Eugenie at the Epsom Downs Derby back in June 2011.

THAT wedding dress
When Kate Middleton stepped out of her wedding car to marry her prince in April 2011, the whole world was in awe at her stunning dress.
The detail was simply beautiful and after the Royal Wedding, there were women all over trying to copy Kate’s wedding style.

She was one of Team GB’s biggest supporters at the Olympics
Kate was one of Team GB’s biggest fans at the London 2012 Olympics. The royal sat in the stands watching the likes of Rebecca Adlington, Nicola Adams and Andy Murray do Britain proud.
She dressed like any other spectator too, opting for the casual look to cheer on the athletes.

Her passion for giving
Even before she was a royal, Kate had a passion for charity (remember the lace dress she wore for a charity fashion show at university?) but now that she’s got the royal family behind her, Kate is giving even more.
The Duchess often visits hospices and is patron for charities like Action on Addiction, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, the Art Room and the National Portrait Gallery.

We’ve seen her passport photo
There aren’t many royals who would let us see their passport photo, but at the Olympics Kate left her VIP ticket on show.
The Duchess even manages to look fabulous in her passport pic!

She’s got a sense of humour
The Duchess is great with the public and high-profile figures, often laughing at their jokes – and a good belly laugh too!
She’s been seen giggling with Wills, Harry, Eugenie and even the Queen. You’ve got to love a girl with a good sense of humour.

She’s a domestic goddess
Kate joined her father-in-law Prince Charles on a trip to the Dulwich Picture Gallery in March 2012, where the pair took part in arts and crafts.
When it came to ironing their work, Charles looked like he’d never seen the appliance before, while Kate looked like a natural!

She’s just like us
Kate wasn’t born a royal and although her family are quite wealthy, she was brought up out of the public eye, just like us.
She’s done an amazing job of learning the ropes of being a royal and manages to do it without forgetting her roots – she still wears casual clothing, shops on the high street and gives her man a cuddle in public. She’s the perfect people’s princess!

She’s a great mum
We were ridiculously excited when we heard Kate and Wills’ pregnancy news with Prince George – and now there’s little Charlotte too!
