Depression affects around 2 out of 3 adults at some point in their lives and it's very easily treated.
Stress can make you ill and cause symptoms such as sweating, palpitations and headaches. It can also make sufferers very irritable, tense and even depressed sometimes.
Anxiety disorders affect around 1 in 20 people. If your man experiences anxiety attacks in his day-to-day life for no apparent reason, this could be why. This disorder is now well understood and a range of treatments are available.
Schizophrenia is more likely to affect men at a younger age. This illness has nothing to do with having a split personality sufferers confuse what's real and what's not. This disease can be controlled much more effectively if it is diagnosed early.
