The rule for sugar is simple - avoid it wherever possible!

The How Not to Get Fat theory is all about creating a balance in your hormones and blood sugar, so eating sweets, chocolate, ice cream and having sugar in tea and coffee will give us a big energy boost. But the only way after you've gone up, is down.

This dip is when we end up wanting more sugar to give us that high again, and it all starts again.

If you fancy something sweet, treat yourself to a few squares of dark chocolate or even better, dried fruit and a few nuts.
