New designer NHS hospital gown keeps patients covered-up
Anyone who has ever stayed in a hospital will have had to wear the traditional flimsy gown, that has the tendency to flash open at the worst possible moment.
But those days are over, thanks to a new competition run by the Department of Health in a drive to improve patient dignity and privacy.
The winner was top designer Ben de Lisi, who's more used to dressing the likes of Kate Winslet and Rachel Weisz for the red carpet than hospital patients.
Not only will the new gown cover up a patient's modesty but, most importantly, it still allows doctors and nurses easy access to carry out their work effectively.
Instead of the old backless gown, the new version is shaped like a long t-shirt with plastic poppers up either side.

The designer, Ben de Lisi said: 'This is something that affects us all - we all have been in hospital in that horrible situation with your gown opening up at the back.
'It was about well-being, not just about glamour. I wanted to make a difference.'
The gowns will be available for hospitals to buy next year at the same cost as the old version.
As well as the new gown, a bed pod, capsule washroom and a reclining day chair were all revealed as part of the Patient Dignity initiative.
