Pop singer Anastacia has shared a topless selfie after undergoing double mastectomy surgery.

The 48-year-old star, who is best known for hits including I'm Outta Love, One Day in Your Life, and Left Outside Alone, bared her body in a revealing picture that she posted to her Instagram account, writing alongside 'Hollerrrrrrrr #SurvivorChick!!! 👀👅'

Her 74,000 social media followers were quick to respond to the candid snap, with one saying 'My Mam had this done a few weeks ago, so proud of you both @anastaciamusic', and another agreed, 'Wow, looking so stunning. A very brave lady indeed after all that you have been through, sending my best wishes to you'.

The picture also revealed a scar across the popstar's stomach, which is a result of surgery related to Crohns disease, which she has battled since the age of 13.

Anastacia has beaten breast cancer twice - she was first diagnosed at the age of 34, in 2003, but developed the condition again 10 years later in 2013.

In October of the same year, which is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, she told fans that she'd undergone a double mastectomy.

'In light of Breast Cancer Awareness Month I wanted to take the opportunity to support a cause particularly close to my heart,' she wrote at the time.

'I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time earlier this year and am currently in the final stages of recovery after undergoing a double mastectomy.'

'It has been an intense journey but I am feeling great and ready to start the next chapter. Breast Cancer Awareness Month gives all who are facing this disease a chance to gain strength and support from each other.'

'Early detection has saved my life twice. I will continue to battle and lend my voice in anyway I can.'

Speaking to the Daily Mail in 2015, Anastacia added, 'he choice of whether or not to have a mastectomy focused my mind on how much I want to live.'

'The mastectomy was a choice for life. The second cancer was easier than the first, because I had all the information. I almost [had the mastectomy] the first time, but decided to wait and see if it came back.'

'As soon as it did I knew what I had to do, because I had done the research.'

'I hated that feeling of waiting after every biopsy I've had over the past 10 years, to find out if it would return. I couldn't keep living like that.'

'Now the fear is gone! I never worry about getting breast cancer, because there is no breast tissue for it to grow in. That's all I can do.'
