'I can still down two bottles a night' Carol McGiffin confesses to drinking every day

Former Loose Women panellist Carol admits to drinking more now that the weather is warmer

Carol McGiffin has spoken openly and honestly about her nightly wine habit.

The former Loose Women panellist has gone on record, in her Best magazine column, as saying she is boozing 'every day', and even though the hangovers are becoming worse, the 57-year old TV personality shows no signs of slowing down.

Carol blames the recent bout of sunny, warm weather for making her reach for the bottle, especially when sat outside with husband Mark Cassidy.

'[I've been drinking] nearly as much as everyone thinks, and nearly every day,' she wrote in the mag.

'Every time I get drunk, I say I'm never drinking again, but always do. So I'll just say I'm not going to drink any more. But I'm not going to drink any less, either.'

She went on to add: 'Don't get me wrong, I can still down two bottles a night - and that's after dinner.'

Carol has spoken previously to The Sun of her love of a tipple or two, in a heartfelt column about the good old days with sister, Tracy, who sadly passed away from cancer in January this year.

She spoke fondly of when they lived together in London in the '80s. 'We had some riotous times back then, were really badly behaved, and got up to some terrible things.'

'We had a lot of holidays too, she wasn't really a drinker, but I always got her drunk somehow.'

Carol herself battled breast cancer. She was diagnosed in 2014 and underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation.

In an interview with the Sunday People after she'd undergone treatment, she said: 'I don't want to pretend anymore. I kept it a secret because I didn't want anyone feeling sorry for me.'

'I feel it is over now and I've got I through it. I just want to be able to go out without my hat on and for people not to be bothered. I just want life to get back to normal.'
