'No wonder girls think they're fat!' Boohoo slammed for use of model for plus size clothes

Boohoo are called out for using plus size models who don't seem to actually be plus size...

Online fashion retailer Boohoo have come under fire recently after Twitter users vented frustrations at the brand for using plus size models that didn't seem to be plus sized.

Eagle-eyed Boohoo fan @Suzziiee_main sparked the debate after tweeting how 'offended' she was by the size of the woman modelling a plus sized bikini.

She wrote: 'Anyone else majorly offended that this is a 'plus size' bikini on a 'plus size' model?!?! no wonder girls think they are 'fat'.

If you're not familiar with the online store, Boohoo has increased in popularity over the years, collecting over 479k followers on Twitter alone. The brand also offers Boohoo Plus, a range of 'fashion for the fuller figure', and the line includes sizes 16 to 24.

The model in the images Suzie highlighted appears in several listings for the store, and Boohoo lists her as wearing a size 16 on several other product adverts, though not everyone believed that to be true.

Suzie's complaint has been liked more than 900 times, and racked up a whopping 350 retweets, with the sentiment behind it cutting deep, more so for some than others.

One commenter replied saying: 'i am fuming. i've been reduced to tears. i am really hurt by this. hopefully they fix it'.

Another user agreed: 'this is ridiculous. so bloody infuriating' and a third wrote: 'This is awful!!!!'

However, not everyone was in agreement with the backlash, with one follower saying: 'She's definitely a size 14 at least. Just a beautiful healthy gorgeous woman with curves - which is exactly what plus size should be for'.

'She's def bigger than the other models,' a second echoed. 'Boohoo are 1 of the only sites sizes are actually real, regardless of how the model looks!love them'.
