Stacey Solomon reveals the 'unglamorous' reason behind her black eye

And it’s not what you think…

Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon revealed the 'unglamorous' reason behind her black eye.

Having covered the bruise up to present yesterday's show, the star shared the 'very unglamorous' reason she's sporting the shiner.

Stacey explained that the incident happened on Sunday - three days ago - but that it just keeps getting 'worse and worse by the day'.

The mum-of-two regaled her fellow panellists with the story Stacey says: 'You know when you wrap up in blanket, and sleigh down the stairs?...'

Janet Street Porter looked at her, baffled, and replied: 'No I don't know about that!'

Stacey added: 'Come on Janet, you've never sleighed down the stairs? Anyway, I went down too hard and went straight into the bannisters at the bottom.'

Taking to her Instagram page, Stacey then shared the before and after pic showing off her injury with her 560k followers.

The TV personality took the opportunity to remind her fans that hair and make-up is amazing and that she wouldn't look like this without such 'sorcery' to help with her 'black eyes, period skin and haystack hair'.

She finished the candid post by declaring: 'So the next time you look at somebody in a magazine or on tv or just in you social news feeds and think G-d I wish I looked like that just think of me and what I really look like underneath all of the sorcery! #Everybody'sHussling ❤️💙💜💚💛💚💜💙❤️'

Praise for her humour and honesty quickly rolled in from fans: 'You ARE beautiful both ways but especially because you highlight and share this stuff,' one exclaimed, while another agreed: 'Love this @staceysolomon 😍😘 amen to makeup 🙏🏻'

'Stacey Solomon your an absolute Legend woman 😘 god bless you xx,' posted a third, whilst another applauded the mum-of-two by writing: 'Hahha! Love you Stacey! So honest!! Xx'.
