Blogger's tummy control leggings 'transformation' shows the reality behind posed social media posts

'I wanted to post this picture for a little perspective'

A fitness blogger has shared a speedy 30-second 'transformation' post of herself wearing high-rise leggings to highlight the truth behind posed pictures.

Zoe Novota, who shares her workout journey with her followers on her account zoe_se_sas, posted two side-by-side images of herself wearing the leggings; one where they are pulled high over her stomach, and another where they're rolled down.

'It's easy to look at pictures of other women on Instagram or really anywhere else and compare yourself to them. But I wanted to post this picture for a little perspective,' she said.

Noting that the images were taken just seconds apart, Zoe explained that many of her posts are posed, with good lighting, and flattering angles.

'It's still me, but I don't walk around in the best light, at the best angle, posing and flexing every second (although that would be fantastic 😂),' she admits.

'So take a good look at the picture on the right, thats me relaxed without the flattering tummy control of my high-rise leggings. The person on the right still works out almost everyday and eats healthy at least 75% of the time. She is also still 100% beautiful and strong.'

Zoe then reminds her fans not to be tough on themselves if they catch themselves at a bad angle or in lighting they don't like, because 'your body is still so amazing and does so many amazing things for you if you let it.'

'And when you see posed pictures know that the people in them are perfectly imperfect too,' she concludes.

'Thank you for reminding us! :),' one commenter remarked in response to her honest post, followed by another who wrote: 'We love your insta!'

Another asked where the leggings in question were from, to which Zoe replied: 'They are actually from @victoriassecret. I really like them, they are comfortable and they stay up really well.'
