One Direction are off on tour again, but this time the boys aren’t going.
Er, wait what? It’s true, the boys aren’t going, their full-sized wax doubles are going instead. The five life-like creations are being taken by Madame Tussauds from the UK to America and then Germany so that fans all over the world can get their selfie-fix with the handsome chaps.
Lookalike factor: 7 – some of the boys are a 9 for us and some are a 6, but we think they’re pretty good as a whole package, just a bit shinier.
Well, would you look who it is? Kate and Wills (the waxworks, not the real couple) have had a posh old makeover at their London home, Madame Tussauds. There’s a snazzy new suit for Wills, and a new frock and hairstyle for Kate.
What do you make to the Duke and Duchess in wax? We think Kate is quite convincing, Wills on the other hand…
Lookalike factor: 7
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a really, really good waxwork, but we reckon Madame Tussauds may have hit the nail on the head here. At first glance this just looks like the Beckhams on one of their regular red carpet outings, but on closer inspection that slightly shiny skin says otherwise!
They’re certainly a lot more convincing than a previous set of waxwork copies the London attraction made of them, click through to the next slide to see them…
Lookalike factor: 9
Oh Madam Tussauds! What on earth have you done to our beautiful David’s face? You’ve made him look like Robbie Savage! And poor Victoria, we’re not sure she’d be too pleased to think she looks like this either.
Lookalike factor: 5
Whitney Houston has not 1, but 4 wax figures honouring her 30 year career. We think New York Whitney has got to be the most life-like – we’re not sure about Washington Whitney – although we love her retro outfit! Click through to see Whitney’s other waxworks…
Lookalike factor: 8
Hmm we’re not sure Madame Tussauds did such a good job on Whitney’s Hollywood waxwork – although we can see the resemblence with young, fresh-faced Whitney at the start of her career in her Vegas waxwork.
Lookalike factor: 6
We have to say this waxwork is not a bad copy of the real Jen. The guys at Madame Tussauds in New York have certainly got her silky straight hair right and have even given her wax double a copy of her engagement ring from Justin Theroux. Maybe there’ll be a wedding band there too soon…
Lookalike factor: 7
You could easily mistake this waxwork of Russell Brand at Madame Tussauds in London for the comedian. It’s got his rugged good looks, curly hair and even a bit of chest hair!
Lookalike factor: 10 – hello Russell!
If you haven’t been lucky enough to see Madonna dancing around in her smalls on the stage, you can visit her waxwork figure at Madame Tussauds in Los Angeles, where she’s seen wearing a little black number and long, curly hair.
Lookalike factor: 8 – look at those toned thighs!
The king of mean Simon Cowell has a prime spot in Madame Tussauds in Hollywood complete with a posh leather chair and crisp white shirt. We wonder how far his trousers go up though!
Lookalike factor: 7 – he looks a lot less scary than Simon!
Supermodel Kate Moss’s waxwork at Madame Tussauds in London looks preened to perfection. We’re not sure we’ve seen Kate looking this squeaky clean before – we’re more used to the rocker wife’s boho look.
Lookalike factor: 7 – we’d love to see a waxwork of Kate when she’s dressed casual too.
Doesn’t Becks‘s waxwork look angry? The mannequin in Madame Tussauds in Hollywood shows the footballer dressed in his LA Galaxy uniform and looking like he had his eye on someone!
Lookalike factor: 6 – whether it looks like him or not, we’ve always got love for David!
Madame Tussauds in Hollywood unveiled a Britney Spears waxwork at its opening in 2009. We think it was a great resemblance to the singer with its curly hair and bright smile.
Lookalike factor: 9 – could easily be Britney!
Check out these Peter Andres at Louis Tussauds Waxworks in Blackpool. The right one’s the real Peter, of course. He couldn’t help but have a peek at his amazing waxwork at the attraction.
Lookalike factor: 10 – they’ve even perfected his tan!
Calling all Glee fans! Have you seen Jane Lynch’s waxwork at the Madame Tussauds in Los Angeles? We love how she’s dressed as character Sue Sylvester from the series, complete with her red tracksuit and megaphone.
Lookalike factor: 8 – she looks just as mean as Sue.
Wow! We thought Kate Winslet had gone on a day trip to Madame Tussauds in London with a posh frock on. Turns out it was just her waxwork looking at us. Great resemblance, don’t you think?
Lookalike factor: 10 – we think Kate would be proud.
This waxwork of silver fox George Clooney at the Musee Grevin in Paris was sculpted from a photo of the actor and took six months to complete. We think they did a very good job and we fancy his waxwork as much as we do George.
Lookalike factor: 8 – of course, we’ll have a drink with you George!
Dame Helen Mirren’s waxwork looks super glam. She’s got her hair done, a stylish frock on and is even looking a little tanned. The real Helen’s beaming smile shows she’s happy with her double, too.
Lookalike factor: 10 – very impressive.
Ahhh SuBo gives her waxwork figure some love at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool. Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a button you could press and hear Susan belt out one of her songs?
Lookalike factor: 10 – we like the pose too.
Head to Madame Tussaud’s in Blackpool where you can see these waxworks of Kate and William from when they returned from their honeymoon and went to a charity gala. They’ve definitely got their tans right and Kate’s flowing locks.
Lookalike factor: 6 – you can tell it’s Kate and Wills but there’s something a bit strange about these waxworks…
Oh dear R-Pattz, you’re not looking yourself here. We thought this waxwork of Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson was Leonardo DiCaprio at first. And what’s up with his tie? Give us the real Robert any day!
Lookalike factor: 4 – we could hardly tell it was him.
The Doctor’s in town. Matt Smith looked less than impressed with his Dr Who waxwork figure at the exhibition opening of the Dr Who Experience at the Olympia in London. It must have been the change in hair colour.
Lookalike factor: 6 – we’re with Matt on this one.
Gary Barlow’s waxwork at Madame Tussauds in London attracted so much female attention that it had to be moved to its own protected VIP area. We’re partial to a bit of Gary too and wouldn’t mind him giving us that sexy, smouldering look.
Lookalike factor: 7 – we can imagine this is one popular mannequin.
Ooh la la! Eva Longoria’s waxwork in Las Vegas looks every inch the sexy senorita as the real actress. We like how Eva chose red to meet her dummy.
Lookalike factor: 7 – nice waxwork styling.
It’s Corrie’s Ken Barlow! And Deirdre’s come to visit him at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool. Waxworks of Coronation Street favourites Ken and Deirdre were added to the collection and the real life actors came to see their doubles.
Lookalike factor: 6 – looks like Ken and he’s even wearing one of the character’s favourite jumpers. There’s something a bit odd about his right hand though.
We thought the Queen had made a guest appearance on This Morning, but it was just her waxwork. How good is the resemblance? Suppose they would have been in trouble if they got the Queen’s waxwork wrong.
Lookalike factor: 10 – it’s so good that the Queen could probably get away with using the waxwork for public appearances and just put her feet up all day.
Check out Dannii Minogue’s waxwork. She looks as glam as she did while judging the X Factor and we loved that black and white striped dress Dannii wore to the National Television Awards. Dannii looks happy enough to be posing with her double too.
Lookalike factor: 9 – spot on Madame Tussauds.
Rihanna’s waxwork at Madame Tussauds in London shows off the singer’s wild curls, bright make-up and trendy style. We like.
Lookalike factor: 9 – we could have easily mistaken this dummy for the real Rihanna.
He definitely has the same cute boy looks but this waxwork of Justin Bieber at Madame Tussauds in Berlin looks more Photoshopped than a glossy magazine. We’re not sure what Justin would think of it but we prefer the singer looking more real. What do you think?
Lookalike factor: 7 – we’re sure Justin has perfect skin but it can’t be this smooth, can it?
Did you guess who this waxwork was? No, neither did we. Poor Penelope Cruz might not recognise it herself if she visits the Grevin Wax Museum in Paris where it lives.
Lookalike factor: 5 – it’s the eyes that look quite odd.
Check out this waxwork of David Hasselhoff at Madame Tussauds in Vienna. He’s got leather trousers and that Hoff charm, just like the real thing.
Lookalike factor: 8 – it’s got the charm but looks like a back problem too!
Wow! We thought this was the real Lady Gaga posing in New York’s Madame Tussauds. The makers of this waxwork got her hair and make-up perfect and we like the outfit they chose too.
Lookalike factor: 10
We remember Kylie Minogue looking like a Greek goddess in this dress during her Aphrodite tour. Madam Tussauds in Sydney unveiled the new Kylie waxwork in April 2012.
Lookalike factor: 7 – not a bad version of Kylie.
Oh Colin! Even your waxwork makes us weak at the knees. Madame Tussauds in London definitely treats the stars well as we’re loving this dummy of Colin as much as we did Kate Winslet’s. Now to convince the attraction to let us move Colin into our home so we can stare at him all day long.
Lookalike factor: 9 – we like.
Ha ha! We love this waxwork. Madame Tussauds in Blackpool has perfected Keith Lemon’s cheeky grin and thumbs up gesture. Looks like the real Keith is a fan too.
Lookalike factor: 8 – it’s just Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughbooby by his side that’s missing.
Can you tell which one of these is the real Cheryl Cole? Yes, we can too. We can see the resemblance but the Cheryl waxwork wearing a long red dress seems to look a bit like Kimberley from Girls Aloud too.
Lookalike factor: 6 – we think they might have mixed up their girl band members.
We know Brad Pitt changes his facial hair quite often but this isn’t his best look. The actor’s waxwork at the Madame Tussauds museum exhibition in Tokyo appeared very slim, a little washed out and in need of a good shave.
Lookalike factor: 6 – let’s just say it’s Brad on a bad day.
Where to next?
