Holly Willoughby has addressed recent speculation about her weight loss, saying that she wishes people could ‘move on’ from the subject.
Before her summer hiatus to enjoy some family time and a break from being in front of the This Morning cameras, Holly was at the centre of a whirlwind of speculation about her weight, with viewers and fans alike commenting on the star’s ‘shrinking’ figure.
Social media followers expressed their concerns over Holly’s weight in her Instagram pictures, saying that she was looking ‘super slim’ and ‘so thin’.
However, while some of Holly’s fans were worried by her seemingly smaller frame, others dogged the star to reveal the secrets to her slimmer figure. ‘What is your secret you look amazing!’ wrote one admirer, while another commented: ‘fab figure tell me how you do it.’
Although she remained quiet throughout all of the speculation about her weight loss, Holly has finally spoken out about her body image and what she thinks when people comment on the way she looks.
Speaking to The Sun’s Fabulous magazine recently, the mum-of-three talked about her diet – but only to make a stand about why she doesn’t like to discuss it.
‘I think people will always discuss it, and it’s exactly why I just won’t’ Holly told the magazine. ‘I’ve sat across from parents who have lost children from [eating disorders] and I don’t want to be a part of it.’
‘Body image is such a dull subject when there is so much more to talk about. As long as you’re happy and you’re healthy, move on.’
This isn’t the first time that the 36-year-old TV star has taken a stand against society’s fixation with weight loss. In an interview with Prima magazine earlier this year, Holly reiterated that her experiences interviewing those affected by eating disorders make her determined not to add her voice to the conversation on dieting.
‘I actually avoid talking about my diet and exercise regime because I have interviewed so many people affected by eating disorders and I know some people in chat rooms can really fixate on other people’s diets,’ she explained, before adding: ‘I just can’t contribute to that.’

She continued: ‘I’m healthy; I love food it’s a celebration, something to be talked over, shopped for, cooked and enjoyed.
‘As long as I’m healthy, that’s good enough for me. I’m quite active and I try not to let the way I look be the main focus because it’s not the most important thing.’
