To make your homemade body scrub mix fine salt (or sugar if you have sensitive skin) with some extra virgin olive oil and add a fragrance of your choice, you could use lavender, vanilla pods, rose petals, or a combination. Gently rub into your skin using circular motions, then rinse off with warm water to reveal radiant skin.
Why not put your homemade body scrub into a pretty jar to make a lovely gift!
Put your old bronzer to good use and make your very own body shimmer. No more annoying cracked bronzers going to waste!
Use the back of a spoon to crush your bronzer so there are no lumps, tip into a pot of your favourite body moisturiser and mix, and you’ll have your very own body glow. Apply your moisturiser to your body as normal and it will add a subtle bronzing shimmer to your skin.
Lip balms are great for keeping your lips smooth and moisturised, especially during the winter. Tinted lip balms add a touch of colour to your look, if you haven’t found one in the shade you want, here’s how to make your own using your favourite shade of lipstick.
If you have a broken lipstick, or one which has nearly ran out, mix it into a pot of clear lip balm. Add the lipstick a bit at a time to determine the strength of the colour. You now have a lip balm in your favourite shade for a glamorous pout!
Beauticians tell us to exfoliate once a week and what better way to do it than in a natural and purse-friendly way? Smooth and glowing skin without a hole in your pocket.

Don’t panic if it does happen, as a tomato juice rinse will sort it out. Just use a normal bottle of tomato juice from the supermarket and take it into the shower with you, wash it through your hair and then shampoo and condition as normal.

Hair oil has been all the talk recently and we know it leaves hair feeling soft and moisturised. But, don’t worry if you can’t afford to fork out for an expensive brand, as you can get the same effect with a few tiny drops of olive oil. Make this easy mask with one avocado, an egg yolk and a tablespoon of honey. Scoop out the flesh of the avocado in a bowl and mash it up. If you have combination skin, add the egg yolk and simply apply it onto your clean skin. If you have mature skin, add a tablespoon of honey to the avocado instead of the egg yolk and do the same. Leave the mixture on for about 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
Eggs are a super ingredient! Not only can eating one egg a day as part of a healthy breakfast help you lose weight, by keeping you from getting hungry later in the morning, but they are also great for creating natural hair conditioners.
Simply whip 2 eggs in a bowl and apply on wet clean hair and rinse after 5 minutes (make sure you put an old towel around your neck to avoid messiness). Then condition and blow dry your hair as normal and get ready to feel your silky smooth locks.
Facial scrubs can contain things that scratch your skin, so instead of forking out for one from the shops, whip up your own one at home. Crush any nuts you have into tiny pieces and mix them with one pureed banana. Gently massage the face and leave it for 5 minutes before washing off – you’ll soon have the clear skin you’ve always dreamed of.
