‘Seriously over the moon!’ Lisa Riley announces she’s engaged to long-term partner Al

Lisa Riley has announced her engagement to long-term partner Al with an excited photo and flash of the sparkler of a ring.

The 41-year-old actress, famed for her Emmerdale character Lisa Dingle, revealed the happy news to her 78.6k Instagram followers.

Flashing her stunning engagement ring, the former Loose Women favourite wrote: ‘Yes I can now confirm the rumours are true….I have got engaged…my soul mate and best mate and love of my life.’

However, the weight loss guru was keen to point out that it’s very early in the planning days, insisting they don’t even know where or when they’ll exchange their ‘I do’s’ yet as they have no date set for the wedding but she is ‘seriously over the moon’.

The star went on to say: ‘Al is the best thing to have ever happened to me….we have absolutely NO date set for ANY wedding day, just happy together…zero fuss, just firmed our togetherness.’

It’s happy news for the couple, who have been publicly dealing with the heartbreak of dashed baby hopes.

At 41, Lisa had been planning to undergo IVF in a bid to fall pregnant, but medical tests revealed the procedure would almost certainly fail.

Lisa has said in the past: ‘People think women need to have a child to complete themselves, but that just isn’t the case.

‘I feel that I have taken ownership of the situation now. I have seen other people go through years and years of IVF treatment and the stress and pressure that creates.

‘I don’t want to do that. We have decided now that we aren’t going to go down that route, and now that we have made that decision I could not be happier.’
