Amy Childs splits from partner Bradley Wright six weeks after welcoming daughter Polly

The pair say that they will remain friends

Amy Childs has split from partner Bradley Wright, just six weeks after the couple welcomed their first child.

A representative for the former TOWIE star confirmed the news in a statement, adding that the pair intended to remain friends for the sake of their daughter Polly.

'Amy has not thrown Brad out, but they have split up amicably,' the spokesperson explained to OK! magazine. 'Brad will of course see Polly whenever he likes and they will remain friends.'

Amy and Bradley met in 2013, but went their separate ways in October 2015, when The Mirror reported that Bradley had been given an 18-month sentence for handling stolen goods.

They rekindled their romance the following year, and in October announced that they were expecting a baby, with Amy telling OK! that she was 'shocked but happy' to be pregnant.

'We wanted [a baby] before Bradley went to prison but it didn't happen,' she said at the time. 'I didn't think I could get pregnant. We'd been together for nine months and I came off the pill in the summer and I thought it might take me ages.'

'I was taking folic acid but it didn't happen. I was really panicking. I went online to find out why and it was the worst thing I could have done. I got so stressed out about it that I was drinking. Brad told me off for it but I couldn't help it.'

Reports of the couple's latest split first broke in The Sun, when a source told the paper: 'It's over for good now, Amy is fed up.'

'They've decided between them that the relationship won't work and Bradley has moved out. Amy can't deal with the pressure of their relationship and being a mum.'

'It's just too much. It has been a rough few months and the latest row was the final straw.'

'He will still see their baby Polly and Amy wants to make that work.'
