‘He got teary eyed’ Andrea McLean admits fiancé Nick Feeney helped to pick her wedding dress

The Loose Women panellist – who has been married twice before – admitted ‘breaking tradition’ as she confessed during an episode of the show that fiancé Nick went with her to choose the gown.

The 47-year-old TV presenter revealed how her other half got ‘all teary-eyed’ during the special moment and was confident – after fellow panellist Nadia asked ‘he should get emotional on the day?’ – that he would still react the same upon seeing her on their wedding day.

‘I got my dress,’ Andrea said. ‘I took Nick with me to buy it. He was a wedding dress shop.’

‘The first time I tried it on, I knew I loved it and wanted that one. He came with me and I saw he got a but teary and said “you look lovely”.’

The mum-of-two went on to say that it wouldn’t be a fancy wedding, revealing revealed that herself and Nick – and her two children Amy and Finlay – would all be getting ready in the same room together.

Coming to Andrea’s defence, guest presenter Denise Van Outen admitted that if she were to marry again, she wouldn’t be fussed if her other half saw her in the dress.

And viewers tended to agree, with one writing on Twitter: ‘Hubby came dress shopping with me. 10 happy yrs of marriage and counting’.

‘Life is far too short to fret over traditions like not seeing the dress!’ another declared. ‘Its just a dress! We married abroad – beautiful and stress free.’

The husband and wife-to-be already set tongues wagging when they posted a picture from what appeared to be a joint hen and stag do during their family holiday a few weeks ago.

Nick shared a sweet snap of the couple, which he captioned: ‘My gorgeous fiancé @andreamclean1 looking lovely before our family meal out #holiday #familytime #engaged #weregettingmarried.’
