Andrea McLean reveals the reason why her wedding was almost 'cancelled'

'Stop the wedding!'

Andrea McLean has revealed the surprising reason her wedding to Nick Feeney was interrupted halfway through, almost causing the ceremony to be called off altogether.

Andrea, 48, tied the knot with fiance Nick recently, with many of her fellow Loose Women panellists in attendance. However, during an episode of the ITV daytime show, the star opened up about the dramatic moment that her nuptials were called to a halt.

She explained how celebrity photographer Nicky Johnston had jokingly called out an 'objection' after the couple exchanged their vows - and accidentally caused more trouble than he thought!

'That was us, we'd literally just said our vows. Can I just say, the vows that nearly never happened because of Nicky Johnston!' Andrea exclaimed.

'When it got to that bit – "Does anyone here know any reason?" – he went, "Well, actually…".'

'We laughed and the lady went, "Stop the wedding!" The whole thing ground to a halt and she said, "This is a legal binding ceremony and you have just said that there is a reason why these two should not." And he was going, "No, no, no I was only joking!"'

Andrea went on to say that the women didn't see the funny side, adding that 'This whole thing could be cancelled right now.'

'We all sort of stopped and looked at each other and she said, "But I'll let you carry on. Carry on!",' Andrea continued. 'It was one of those things that the bigger the disaster you survive, the funnier it is later. Now it's hilarious.'

Thankfully, the pair were able to continue with their big day, and are now happily husband and wife, with Andrea sharing an emotional tribute to her husband on Instagram.

'My broken heart is not only fixed, it is filled to bursting,' she wrote on the day the couple said 'I do'.

'I have learned that love in middle age comes with so much more... the past isn't left behind, it travels with you, and teaches you what you don't want as much as what you do.'

'It brings baggage, history and scars, but over time it becomes something stronger and more solid because of all of that. I dared to dream, and today my dreams are coming true.'
