Coronation Street star Dean Fagan announces engagement to girlfriend Louise Pridding

Coronation Street actor Dean Fagan has taken to Instagram to share some happy news – he’s proposed to his girlfriend, Louise Pridding, and she said yes!

Dean, who has played Luke Britton on the ITV soap since March 2014, popped the question during a romantic trip to Spain with Louise, his girlfriend of nine years.

Captioning a sweet pic of the smiling couple, Dean wrote: ‘After making her wait 9 nearly 10 years!!! I finally led her down a dark path and asked her to marry me.’

‘Can’t believe she said yes! But glad she did. My best friend and now fiance. My pea.’

Fans were over the moon about the announcement, with many taking to the comments to offer their warm wishes.

‘This is amazing news! Congratulations!!!’ said one excited fan, whilst another wrote, ‘So pleased for you both Dean.. Lots of love from Ireland.. Xxx.’

One woman, who appeared to be his sister, said: ‘Beyond happy! Congratulations big bro 💋💋💋.’

Over on Louise’s Instagram account she had posted a similarly sentimental series, sharing a montage of couple up snaps, including one showing off her new sparkler.

‘Do I even need to say it…. I said yes! 💍,’ she wrote. ‘After leading me down a dark path in southern Spain, Dean asked me to marry him 💗 Ahhh love! I’m absolutely over the moon, my best friend now my fiancé!’

Just like on her actor fiancées page, commenters rushed to congratulate her.

‘Ahhhhhhhhh so exciting!!!!!!! Love you both xxx,’ wrote one, whilst another exclaimed: ‘@louisepridding congratulations! What lovely news xx.’

‘Awwwww!!!! So so happy for you @louisepridding amazing news,’ commented another. ‘Couldn’t have happened to a nicer couple 😍 xx’

This isn’t the only exciting engagement for the cast of Corrie this year. Back in June, long-running cast member Sam Aston got down on one knee in front of an audience to propose to his girlfriend of five years, Briony Gardner.

‘I can’t wait to marry my whole world but until then, I’m just floating in this bliss called love,’ Briony said of his romantic proposal at the time.
