Hilary Swank announces engagement to her tennis star fiancé in the sweetest way

Just look at that ring!

Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank has shared some very exciting news, announcing her engagement to former tennis pro Ruben Torres in the sweetest way.

There was no big 'reveal' photo or a snap of the grand gesture in action, instead Hilary, 41, opted for a natural-looking, low-key picture of her and her fiancé to let fans know the good news.

Looking over the moon with their engagement both Hilary and Ruben can be seen smiling from ear to ear, and we're guessing the proposal took place in the early evening – because just look at that lovely light.

Newly-engaged Hilary excitedly captioned the picture 'Went on a hike and this happened! I am so happy to share with you all this exciting and incredible news... the engagement to my dear Ruben!!! #Engaged 😝💘💞'.

We couldn't help but study the ring, and isn't it just fit for a princess? With what looks to be a traditional gold band and a huge emerald it appears as though Ruben has good taste. The ring looks to have diamonds surrounding the emerald too.

Hilary couldn't resist sharing another snap of her and Ruben with fans. Shortly after the couple first announced their engagement she took to Twitter to post a sweet snap of them kissing, along with the caption, 'And then this happened....#sealedwithakiss'

The couple's relationship has been described by some as a 'whirlwind romance', as they only started dating in July last year.

The upcoming nuptuals will be Hilary's second marriage as she previously tied the knot with Chad Lowe in 1997. The couple broke up after nine years together in 2006, finalising their divorce in 2007.

And it looks like Hilary is a long-term relationship kind of girl, as she then went on to date her agent John Campisi for six years following the break down of her marriage. The couple parted in 2012.
