Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton has spoken about ‘feeling like she was in a movie’ as she and Ritchie Neville announce their engagement.
The female singer, who was born in Liverpool, took to Twitter to announce the happy news, writing: ‘So…our news is now out! Ritchie Neville asked me to marry him!’
The 33-year-old and the former 5ive singer were on holiday in Rome at the Michelin stared La Pergola restaurant when he got down on one knee.
Recalling the build up to the emotional evening, Ritchie, 36, said, 'I knew I was about to do it and then all of a sudden I started shaking and adrenaline was rushing through my body.'
But Ritchie had nothing to worry about as Natasha told OK! magazine that he couldn’t have picked a better ring.
The couple described how they were both sobbing; 'It was so romantic and it couldn’t have been more perfect. I felt overwhelmed and like I was in a movie.'
‘We were the only people left in the restaurant so we ended the night with a slow dance to Sinatra on the roof terrace.’
They already have one daughter together, Ella Rose, who was born in September last year.
When they spoke about marriage in the past, Ritchie said he wanted their daughter to be old enough to be part of their day and to be their flower girl.
The pair, who have been dating since 2013, now plan to tie the knot in 2017.
The couple first got together when they appeared on The Big Reunion – featuring chart-topping bands that were big in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Since leaving Atomic Kitten, Natasha has also taken part in Celebrity Big Brother, coming in third place she said; ‘My feet haven't touched the ground. I was thrilled to bits to be the last woman standing.’
‘My head is still spinning. It’s just an unbelievable experience really.’
In 2007, Natasha married Riad Erraji, the father of her youngest son Alfie.
She has two other sons, Josh, 13, and Harry, 10 from previous relationships.
Former band-mate Kerry Katona, who has also appeared in Celebrity Big Brother recently split from her third husband George Kay, 35, after he was charged with assaulting her.
Kerry was famously not invited to Natasha’s wedding in 2007 as she said the pair had ‘drifted too far apart’.
