'I'll take a text' Stacey Solomon admits she's open to 'any kind of proposal' from boyfriend Joe Swash

Stacey Solomon is waiting on that proposal text

Forget down on one knee, with rose petals and candle light, Stacey Solomon is open to the idea of a proposal by text message.

The TV presenter was on the Loose Women panel discussing the topic of marriage proposals by text - and whether it's ever acceptable for a partner to pop the question in this way.

28-year-old Stacey, who has been dating dating actor Joe Swash for almost two years, announced on the show that she thought 'any kind of proposal is great'.

'I'll take a text. That's a great idea. All the pressure's gone, just sent a little message,' she explained.

Fellow panellist Ruth agreed that she was fine with getting a text message proposal from her other half, Eamonn.

Recalling the romantic moment she revealed that it was less text, more 'love letter' style message that he sent while they were together in a car on their way home from the race.

The long text ended with a simple, 'will you marry me?' to which Ruth replied - also via text - 'yes please' and they held hands all the way home.

Listening to the story, Stacey added: 'A text can be just emotional and just as lovely as a letter.'

In the past, the mum-of-two has described herself as a 'hopeless romantic'.

Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: 'I'm always like, "Let's get married, let's have kids."'

'But because me and Joe value each other and want to make this forever, I think sometimes if you want it to be forever then you have to take it at a certain pace.'

She added: 'The main thing is that we're happy, we just really want it to work and we want to take our time with it and put everything into it.

'We're just being grown up and sensible.'
