Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Clifton confesses that she’s ‘working’ on her marriage to Kevin

Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Clifton has responded to recent rumours about her marriage troubles to fellow Strictly pro Kevin, saying that although it’s not ‘easy’ the couple are still working on their marriage.

Karen’s confession comes days after her husband Kevin publicly apologised to her during the show for ‘putting up with him’.

Kevin and Karen Clifton joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2012, and married in 2015.

When Kevin was eliminated from the show at the weekend with her celebrity dance partner Susan Calman, he sparked rumours that the couple’s marriage had hit a rocky patch when he admitted he had not been ‘the easiest person to live with’.

‘When Strictly is on I’m not the easiest person to live with,’ the dancer said. ‘I go a bit mad so I’d like to say first of all thanks to my wife for putting up with me.’

Karen responded to those rumours on the red carpet last night, confessing that although her marriage to Kevin isn’t ‘perfect’ the couple are striving to ‘make it work’ whilst juggling their demanding career commitments.

Karen told The Sun: ‘We’re just a regular couple, we’ve been together for seven years and like any other relationship you have your ups and downs and nothing is ever perfect so you make it work.’

She was also quick to reassure fans, adding: ‘Everything is fine.’

‘We just need to keep pushing and relationships take work. It’s not as easy as you think, especially being in a job like Strictly.’

Since his exit from this year’s Strictly Come Dancing contest, Karen revealed that ‘it’s just nice to have him home’ and the couple have been spending some quality time together, with Karen taking good care of him too.

‘I always take care of him so if anything I always come home and I cook for him and do his laundry.’

‘There’s been lots of wine drinking and taking naps.’
