Andy Murray finally reveals the name of his newborn son

It's adorable...

Tennis star Andy Murray has revealed the name of his newborn.

Andy Murray and wife Kim Sears welcomed their newest family member two weeks ago, and have been keeping the name of their new arrival under wraps. But now the sporting icon has finally revealed the name of his baby son.

The star attended a launch event for his new clothing brand yesterday – his first public outing since the birth of his third child.

Speaking to journalists at the event, Andy Murray said, “He is called Teddy. My wife liked that so she chose it.”

Andy also said he followed a family tradition, by giving Teddy his own middle name – Barron.

But hilariously, he admitted he isn’t that keen on the name – but rather wants to follow the family protocol. Andy said, “I don’t actually love the name.

“My dad’s middle name was Barron, his dad was Barron and so was my grandad’s dad.”

The tennis player also added that the little one has been keeping his family on their toes.

He said, “We’ve got three children under four now and two dogs, so you’ve got to keep an eye out all the time, but it’s been good, sleeping fine. Everyone’s healthy.

“This time has been really good. The first time when we went from one to two the first week or so was a bit, I don’t know, a bit of jealousy. But this time they’ve been brilliant.”

Kim gave birth to Teddy just days after Andy won the European Open in Belgium – his first singles victory since his comeback from injury.

The couple married in 2015 in Andy’s hometown, Dunblane, and also have two daughters – three-year-old Sophia and two-year-old Edie.

Andy’s mum, Judy Murray, was thrilled with the arrival of her third grandchild.

During an interview, the 60-year-old said her new grandson was a “lovely, happy, healthy baby boy.” Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland, she said, “It’s lovely news, lovely to have a little boy to go with the two little girls.”
