Hilaria Baldwin has suffered a miscarriage, four months into her pregnancy.

Hilaria Baldwin, who is married to Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin, shared the news on Instagram yesterday, following her 20-week scan.

The actress posted an emotional video of herself telling her six-year-old daughter, Carmen, that her baby sibling would not be arriving as planned.

In the caption of her post, Hilaria said, “We are very sad to share that today we learned that our baby passed away at 4 months. We also want you to know that even though we are not ok right now, we will be.

"We are so lucky with our 4 healthy babies—and we will never lose sight of this. I told Carmen and took this so I could send it to Alec.

"I guess this is a good way to share it with you too. I told her that this baby isn’t going to come after all…but we will try very hard to give her a little sister another time.

"I’m really devastated right now…I was not expecting this when I went to my scan today. I don’t know what else to say. I’m still in shock and don’t have this all quite clear. Please no paparazzi…that’s all I ask."

Hilaria also opened up in her Instagram stories, hinting that she would be undergoing a procedure.

Her post read, ‘‘Today didn’t go as planned. I’m very sad. ‘Tonight is my last night with her…such a strange experience."

The 35-year-old announced that she and her husband were expecting a baby girl earlier this year. The loss comes after a particularly difficult year for Hilaria, who suffered another miscarriage earlier this year.

The star shared the news of her first miscarriage on Instagram, posting a photo of her baby bump.

She announced she was pregnant again back in September.

Hilaria and Alec have four children together, sons Leonardo, Rafael, Romeo, and daughter Carmen.
