Former The Voice contestant Bo Bruce has welcomed her first child with Zero 7 musician Henry Binns.
The 32 year old gave birth to a ‘healthy’ baby boy weighing just over 6lb, three weeks before her due date.
The singer shared the news with the Daily Mail, but the couple are yet to reveal the name of their first son.
‘My waters broke three weeks early. We were looked after by the most incredible team at Yeovil maternity hospital’, she told the publication, praising the national healthcare system.
‘The NHS is a godsend and I’ve never, ever been taken care of so well.’
Bo married Zero 7 musician Henry Binns in June last year, wearing the same wedding dress her late mother wore when she married the Earl of Cardigan in the 1980s.
‘It was pretty magical’, she told Hello magazine about her wedding day. ‘I’ve always felt my mum is there in the woods and wearing her wedding dress meant she was with me all day.’
Gushing about her husband Henry, Bo said that she had married her best friend, and that she was very ‘lucky’.
‘I married my best friend, we do everything together and are always in hysterics, which I think is important. It still feels a bit surreal that we are married, I feel very lucky’, she said after tying the knot.
Bo rose to fame when she appeared on BBC’s The Voice in 2012, having been mentored by The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue. The two went on to have a ‘thing’ but the relationship didn’t work out, with Bo saying at the time that she was no longer in speaking terms with her mentor.
‘We had a thing, for sure. My mum was dying and there was a spark between us. After the live shows – before Mum died – we hung out once or twice and we snogged. We were both going through stuff’, she told the Daily Mail.
‘He wasn’t my boyfriend but possibly, in another world, there might have been something.’
