Brooklyn Beckham reveals sweet tattoo tribute to dad David

The 18-year-old has had the numerals '1975' etched on to his hand as a nod to his famous father's year of birth

Brooklyn Beckham has had '1975' tattooed on his hand as a touching tribute to his famous father David Beckham.

Mr.K, the artist responsible for Brooklyn's new permanent marking, revealed via Instagram that the inking was a nod to the year the ex-England footballer was born.

Obviously keen to show off his latest piece of body art, Brooklyn, 18, shared a snap with fans from his own account.

'What a thoughtful young man, to put his dad's date of birth tattooed on his hand, absolutely amazing,' said one.

While another joked that the marking might offend his mother Victoria, 43: 'Hope your mum's not too upset you haven't bothered to have a tat of her birth year.'

And former Coronation Street actress Denise Welch couldn't resist speculating whether Brooklyn's minimalistic etching was in fact a reference to the rock group with the same name.

'Is that dad's birthday or my son's band???' she quipped.

Denise's eldest child, 28-year-old Matt Healy, is the 1975's lead singer.

Seemingly on the same wave length as Denise, 59, one of Brooklyn's followers added: 'Could be his dad's birth year. But I still think it's because The 1975 are the best.'

Brooklyn has a number of tattoos on his body. To name just a few, the budding photographer has the word 'click' scrawled across the finger he'd use to capture a snap on camera as well as 'mama's boy' stamped on his chest.

Although we're sure David was moved by his son's sweet gesture, the 42-year-old recently revealed that he's worried his eldest child might experience a few tattoo hiccups as his collection continues to grow.

'Thankfully I don't feel I've made any with my tattoos. My son's started and I'm sure he'll make mistakes,' he told the Daily Mirror in December 2017. 'But it's part and parcel of life and being creative. That's something you can't stop someone doing, it holds them back.'
