Cat Deeley announced her second pregnancy last month, but now she’s revealed that she still hasn’t told her firstborn that he’s going to be a big brother.
The TV presenter – who shares two-year-old son Milo with husband Patrick Kielty – admitted that she has reservations about sharing her happy news with her son over fears he won’t react well.
Confessing her predicament to TV host Steve Harvey, Cat said about her little boy: ‘He gave me a black eye, he hit me with the ukulele – and it went all black and yellow and purple, he then threw sand in the eye so I was blinded for ten minutes!
‘So I’m really hoping this child survives! I haven’t told Milo yet about the pregnancy yet.’
Admitting she is trying to prepare her son for his new role by teaching him to be gentle, Cat explained: ‘I’m starting with the dog. I’ve got a lovely dog called Lily, who’s really gentle. But sometimes he grabs her skin – not on purpose – but he is just trying to love her.’
She added: ‘I do think that what all kids want more than anything else is just to spend time with you. That’s what I think they really want.’
Cat announced her second pregnancy in January with a heartfelt post on Twitter. She told her followers: ‘Over-the-moon to share that Milo is going to be a big brother! Can’t wait to be a family of four in the spring. We’re all so excited.’
The So You Think You Can Dance host has been honest about her desire for a bigger family, previously telling Grazia: ‘I do want more kids. I love kids… [motherhood] It’s the best – and hardest – job.’
